Claire Carroll

Claire is Head of the Venture Funding team at Enterprise Ireland, the Irish State Agency that focuses on expansion of indigenous companies into overseas markets, with the objective of growing exports and jobs.

Enterprise Ireland has had a VC programme since 1994 with investments into over 70 venture funds under the Seed & Venture Capital Schemes initiative. The Funds supported have a mandate to invest in Irish companies.

Enterprise Ireland also supports the operation of the business angel network in Ireland, HBAN.

Working to identify market failure gaps within the early stage funding ecosystem, venture capital is a primary tool to help high-growth companies in need of equity financing, and Claire manages relationships across the domestic and international VC funds, Angel investors and institutional supporters.

EI is also very active as a direct investor, frequently topping the list of active investors in Europe.
