Eileen Modral

Eileen has been working with early-stage companies and entrepreneurs for over 20 years joining Oxford Innovation in 2001.  She is an accomplished business mentor and experienced advisor to innovative start-ups.  She is passionate about innovation and helping entrepreneurs to achieve success. Eileen has been project manager of a number of Europe wide projects adding to her understanding and knowledge of funding and finance. 

Her work with Oxford Innovation Finance (OION Network) since 2004, one of the most successful angel networks in the UK, gives her a knowledge and perspective on fundraising and investment trends as well as helping businesses prepare to raise external funding, Eileen has a CFA Certificate in Investment Management.

She has strong links across the early-stage equity landscape and believes collaboration is vital to ensure innovation thrives; connecting companies and early stage investors is a big part of her ethos.   

Eileen has been involved with Enterprise Europe Network since 2015 as part of the original Access2Funding Working Group. In addition to her work, Eileen mentors and supports several organisations involved in start-ups and entrepreneurship including the EIC Women Leadership Programme and Speaker and Advisor on Pitch Training.  Under OION Eileen is a signatory to the UK Investing in Women Code

Her current role under Innovate UK EDGE helps companies understand their options for financing growth strategies, with her years of experience in helping early stage companies raise equity investment.
