Julian is Chairman of the Board of Baltic Business Angels Schleswig-Holstein e.V., the business angel association in Germany’s northernmost state. Julian primarily targets deep-tech start-ups and spin-offs from academic institutions and typically invests up to €100,000 per target. His focus is on IoT, data analytics and IT in the healthcare and manufacturing sectors.
In the years between 2013 and 2017 Julian served as CEO of Social Commerce Group SE (now NEXR SE ). In this capacity he took the start-up holding entity from Berlin’s free-market to Frankfurt Stock Exchange (General Standard) and subsequently transformed the company from a financial holding entity into a fully operative company, raising its market cap from 15m€ to then 150m€ within two years.
From 2005 to 2016, Julian was instrumental for numerous successful M&A transactions in volumes between € 100,000 and € 80,000k. As CEO of various listed and private companies, interim manager and consultant, he successfully accompanied APOs, restructured distressed companies and facilitated growth and expansion through A, B and C financing rounds and trade sales.
Having graduated from Cambridge University (UK) in 1985 with a post graduate degree in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (MPhil), Julian now follows his personal interest in these fields.
Julian went to school in Thessaloniki from 1969 till 1974.
