CorkBIC is a public private-sector led organisation, specifically set up to identify and build knowledge intensive companies based on promising technology and capable innovative people. CorkBIC plays a hands-on role helping entrepreneurs and startups navigate the minefield of raising finance, sorting out business propositions, arranging agreements with shareholders and investors, and, perhaps most important of all, finding customers.

CorkBIC manages HBAN (Halo Business Angel Network) in the South and Mid-West of Ireland. HBAN is an umbrella organisaion, operating on a regional basis, providing a matching service for private investors & pre-screened investment opportunities and developing Business Angel Syndicates. Since inception in 2007, HBAN Investments have grown year on year, closing 451 deals, with an Angel investment of €94.4 million, raising in total over €253 million by the end of 2018..

EBAN is the pan-European representative for the early stage investor gathering over 150 member organizations more than 50 countries today. Established in 1999 by a group of pioneer angel networks in Europe with the collaboration of the European Commission and EURADA, EBAN represents a sector estimated to invest 7.5 billion Euros a year and playing a vital role in Europe’s future, notably in the funding of SMEs. EBAN fuels Europe’s growth through the creation of wealth and jobs.

 

The InvestEU Portal is the EU’s online matchmaking platform, connecting EU-based projects with investors worldwide. InvestEu gives EU companies visibility, and helps them secure the investment they need to grow.

Cork City Council (Irish: Comhairle Cathrach Chorcaí) is the authority responsible for local government in the city of Cork in Ireland. The council is responsible for housing and community, roads and transportation, urban planning and development, amenity and culture, and environment. As a partner to the Accelerator, Cork City Council has agreed to provide Cork City Centre office space to accommodate the Accelerator and the Teams. This initiative also incorporates the supports of the Local Enterprise Office, Cork City, the first stop shop for anyone establishing a business in Cork City.

 Cork County Council is the authority responsible for local government in County Cork, Ireland. As a county council, it is governed by the Local Government Act 2001. The council is responsible for housing and community, roads and transportation, urban planning and development, amenity and culture, and environment. Cork County Council is the second largest Local Authority in the Republic of Ireland and the largest based on geographic area size and services a population of 400,000 people

 

Halo Business Angel Network is responsible for the development of business angel activity and angel syndicates on the island of Ireland. HBAN provides qualified deal flow to investors who want to be part of the journey in creating great Irish companies, scaling globally and making returns to their shareholders. CorkBIC manages HBAN in the South West & Mid West of Ireland where high net worth individuals (Business Angels & Syndicates) invest private equity in risk based projects. In 2019 €17m was invested regionally of which €10m was invested in projects in the South & Midwest of Ireland.
