Sara Russick
Sara Russick has over 20 years of experience founding, building, and investing in companies from startup through exit. Sara is co-founder, managing director and board member of Gopher Angels, a MN-based angel network. Since launching in 2012, Gopher Angels has become the collaborative leader in Minnesota and Midwest startup funding, investing $28M into 88 companies.
Sara is also co-founder and managing partner of Capita3, a venture capital firm investing in innovative healthcare companies founded by women. Most recently, Sara launched DiscoveryMN Angels, an angel organization dedicated to investing in startups connected to the University of Minnesota.
Sara is also a fractional C-Suite executive, with leading roles in early stage health tech, digital platforms, and AI companies. Prior to her work in early stage investing, Sara was a multi-time founder. She co-founded Bagster, a venture-backed, nationwide services company that disrupted the waste industry, where she served as EVP and Board Member prior to Bagster’s acquisition by a Fortune 500 company.
Sara was awarded “Titan of Technology 2015” by “Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal.” And Sara was named by “Twin Cities Business Magazine” a “2014 People to Know – Finance.” In 2010, “Advertising Age” named Bagster a “Top 10 Hottest Brands.”
