Juan Fuentes Fernandez
Juan Fuentes Fernandez is a cross-border investor in start-ups related to sports, entertainment and health. He serves as advisory board in The Factory VC in Norway and also in the board of Danish Start-up Group (DSG). His investment thesis focuses on supporting industry-related start-ups that have already achieved product-market fit and are in early expansion phase. (He does not invest in projects related to professional football.) Juan is a member of the Finnish Angel Network (FIBAN) and strategic partner of EPSI (European Platform of Sports Innovation).
He has served as a mentor in the Techstars Sports Tech Accelerator in the USA and as a jury member in various startup competitions both nationally and internationally.
Actively involved in academia and research within the sports industry, he has been a visiting professor/researcher at institutions such as Harvard Business School, Stockholm School of Economics, Copenhagen Business School, European Sports Business School, Barcelona University, among others, teaching topics related to sports management and innovation. Juan is a senior expert in sports management, with extensive experience in strategy, international business development, PR & communications, brand and activation management, project and people management, market research, and CSR.
